European Nuclear Conference (ENC) 2016 represents an international event of nuclear experts and the opportunity for meeting and discussion on current challenges in the nuclear industry and science.

Conference ENC 2016 in Poland was attended by approximately 300 participants from all around the world. The extensive program included more than 20 invited lectures and more than 150 presentations on various research areas of research reactors, operating commercial reactors and advanced reactors of the new generations. Under the auspices of European Nuclear Education Network (ENEN) at a conference took place the tenth ENEN PhD Event & Prize event, on which 12 selected young doctors in the field of nuclear profession presented their research work. One of the three ENEN PhD Event & Prize 2016 awards received dr. Oriol Costa Garrido, a Reactor Engineering Division of  “Jožef Stefan” Institute researcher.

ENC 2016 conference was organized between 9 and 13 October 2016 in Warsaw by European Nuclear Society (ENS) in cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), American Nuclear Society (ANS), Polish Nuclear Society (PTN) and National Centre for Nuclear Research (NCBJ). The conference was attended by dr. Martin Draksler, dr. Oriol Costa Garrido and dr. Blaž Mikuž, Reactor Engineering Division of Jozef Stefan Institute colleagues.
