In the days from 9th till 13th October, 2016 in the city of Gyeongju, the ancient capital of Korea, NUTHOS-11 conference was held; Nuclear Reactor Thermal-Hydraulics, Operation and Safety.
Around 500 participants presented about 350 papers in parallel sessions from nuclear thermal hydraulics and severe accidents. In the session dedicated to the research reactors Iztok Tiselj presented a paper by R. Henry, I. Tiselj, M. Matkovič "Coolant temperature measurements and the TRIGA research reactor" and at the same time participated in the conference as head of two sessions, as well in the organization as a member of the program committee and organizer of multidisciplinary contributions in the field of thermal hydraulics even before the conference.
The last day of the conference was concluded with a tour of a nuclear power plant Shin-Kori 3 and 4. The two 1,400 MW power plants are largely the result of the Korean knowledge. The first will start its regular operation in the next few days, the second in the following year.
